Why Choose On The Lam: A Return to Real Food
So what is real food, really? Real food should be functional. Fresh. Full of flavor. And when your food is prepared carefully by hand and with care, it ought to replace a counter full of supplements. I want to make real food that WORKS. That is the mission, the promise.

What Is Real Food and What It’s Not
Real food is food that is grown, raised, and prepared with intention, without relying on industrial processing or unnecessary additives. What is not real food? Overly processed, mass-manufactured foods striving to meet scalability following a trend. Where the cost is high but you still don’t know if it’s actually working. Or the cost is low, but it fits the trend yet is stripped of active, pure ingredients that do the job they promise.
How to get real food? Well, you make it. Source the highest-grade ingredients, or grow them yourself. This is what we do. Because we want our food to supply our body with what it needs. Support our gut, thyroid, digestion, immunity, brain, skin, and all organs! and the list goes on. What we do is time-consuming, hand-crafted, and effective, and we cut no corners. THIS is how you get real food. And if you don’t have time to do it, we do the hard work for you. Cutting corners will diminish our purpose, so you can trust in the functional foods we deliver.

This is what makes On the Lam unique from the other bone broth brands, whether frozen or dehydrated. Our mission is to provide foods that work, protecting overprocessed foods stripped of the nutrients they promise. We don't follow trends; we follow ancient purity methods with time-honored proof of their effectiveness. Inspired by the Blue Zones, Japanese sea kelp, Russian simmering secrets, Lakotan foraged morels, and Indian Ayurvedic spices like turmeric, neem, and brahmi. All meant to tickle the taste buds, nourish the body, and create your glow from the inside and out.
On the Lam exists for those who really care about the foods they put in their bodies, the quality of ingredients, and for those who understand the effectiveness of holistic, natural, ancient purity, and ingredients. For those who don't have the time to do it, we are cooking it for you. From our country kitchen to yours.
Why I Started On The Lam: Ranch & Gardens
I wanted to provide access to a food product line that would actually do its job - nourish. In a time where grocery greens have lost much of their vitamin contents and shelf foods follow a trend and not a promise, On the Lam’s mission is to be the reprieve.
With us, you can feed your family homemade food without having to step foot in the kitchen. Because in a time like this, where the go-go-go rat race has become the norm, we have lost the ability to craft quality at home, and it’s typically not available in the grocery store. While one answer is to revise with a counter full of supplements of the nutrients we’re missing, I aim to develop pure foods that ARE the nutrients, enhanced with ancient ingredients and methods. The purpose: food that works. And I make it, so you don’t have to.
It wasn’t a plan. It was a refusal.
A refusal to accept premium goods that didn’t work. A refusal to compromise on what I put on my family’s table.
What I found on the market looked the part but lacked the substance, the integrity, and the quiet proof of success. So I began creating my own.
Soft-simmered broths. Carefully hand-rendered fats, not mass-ordered in tubs and repackaged. Preparation rooted in patience and precision. A promise of purity.
On The Lam was built from that uncompromised standard.
Everything I make is first for my own table. For my family. For my own standard of what food should be… nutrient-dense and prepared the right way. I developed foods that are multi-purposed. As a single mother, you master how to maximize benefits with little time and money. Streamline. Foods that promise quality with a big price tag weren’t working. So I learned to do it on my own. Built foods that work, one recipe at a time.
On The Lam: Ranch & Gardens exists because quality begins long before the kitchen. It begins with how animals are raised and how ingredients are sourced.
What we don’t grow ourselves is sourced from ranchers and producers we know; people who value regenerative practices and responsible stewardship as much as we do.
From there, everything is done slowly. With love. With passion.
The Problem With Modern Food
Somewhere along the way, food stopped being food.
What was once grown, raised, and prepared with love has been replaced by something faster, cheaper, and endlessly engineered.
We now have products designed to last longer and look better.

The purpose of food is barely recognizable anymore. They don’t nourish or satisfy as much as they did a few decades ago.
Real Food vs Processed Food
These highly processed foods now make up more than half of the average diet in many developed food systems. Dehydrated bone broth vs. hand-crafted out of the kitchen. Pressure-canned bone broth in a box or jar versus flash-frozen. Reducing processing and exposure to prolonged and/or high heat is what makes the difference in foods that work. Functional foods.
They’re often formulated with refined sugars, industrial seed oils, stabilizers, and additives designed to extend shelf life and standardize taste.
In doing so, they lose something less visible but essential. Nutrient density.
Even preparation has changed.
Traditional broths were simmered for 12-24 hours to extract collagen, gelatin, and minerals.. Our broths follow a specific temperature formula for mass extraction of nutrients while also considering histamine extraction. A careful eye on small batches.

Commercial versions today are pressure-cooked in a fraction of the time or assembled using artificial flavors. Mass produced in manufacturing plants to match a quota.
They replicate half the taste and none of the process.
What We Believe
We believe purity is a practice, not a label.
We believe craftsmanship lives in small batches and human hands.
We believe in ancient methods that endure because they work.
We believe real ingredients demand attention, adaptation, and care.
We believe food and goods should be honest, intentional, and quietly exceptional.
This way of eating aligns closely with what many now call an ancestral diet, a return to ingredients and methods that existed long before shortcuts replaced substance.
Our Standards: From Ranch to Table
The recipe for real food starts with where and how the ingredients are sourced. Our mini ranch and garden are where most of the ingredients are given life.
What we don’t grow ourselves is selected by vetted ranchers and producers we know and trust, fellows who follow regenerative practices and respect the natural rhythm and chaos of land and animals.
We use only safe, real ingredients. Nothing unnecessary or performative.
And that creates real food with its purity, taste, and nutrients retained.
To keep these features of our ingredients intact, our products are produced in limited batches with full attention.
-
Bone broths are soft-simmered using marrow and knuckle bones, never rushed.
-
Tallow is carefully hand-rendered in-house from responsibly raised sources. We regenerate our tallows that are infused with ancient ingredients, and we render suet for our pure tallows.
-
Organic whole wheat sourdough bread is slow-fermented the traditional way, with 100% whole wheat, stone-milled… guided by time rather than convenience. Loaded with protein, fiber, and flavor.
-
Granola is enhanced with fermentation from our discard, mixed and baked in small, controlled quantities to preserve texture, flavor, and freshness. Loaded with good fats, proteins, and superfoods.
I adjust each batch by sight, taste, and feel. And I take my sweet time making them.
Each product is made to meet our own table standard first. A standard of preservation, process, and purity that doesn’t bend.

From Our Country Kitchen to Yours
Everything we make is meant to carry its purpose intact. Hence, each batch begins the same way it always has.
Slow, deliberate, and grounded in process.
Our soft-simmered bone broths are simmered for hours with marrow and knuckle bones. Never rushed or forced.
The result is a real bone broth that develops naturally, rich in taste and nutrients, because that’s what happens when time is respected.
Our grass-fed beef tallow is rendered the same way: gently and patiently. Responsibly sourced, carefully cooked, and always attended to like handling a baby.
What leaves our kitchen is exactly what I prepare for our own table first. They’re not adjusted for scale. Not altered for convenience. Just made the right way, in small batches, with the same standards held from start to finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is considered real food?
Real food is food raised, grown, and prepared with intention. It doesn’t rely on additives, shortcuts, or industrial processing to exist.
Essentially, organic products that begin with quality and are carried through with care. Not engineered or reformulated, just made the way it always was.
How can you tell if food is highly processed?
